Notes if you want to add your gif to Instagram Story

If the gifs that we made want to be appear on Instagram story or Tik Tok, our channel on Giphy should be approved. There are two ways to get official Channel as an Artist & Brand. You can read here to apply for artist channel.

Two years ago, i ever tried & failed. So, during this qurantine i try again from two accounts and both channels get approved.

Here, i wrote the important thing that you should be noted before apply for an official artist channel on Giphy:

Must be original

The illustration or typography you submited should be original. If you want to create a ilustration with the text, i suggest you to use handwriting instead of font.

Non commercial

Make sure gif that you submited are non-commercial use. Application process for artist & brand channel process are different. You can read here for submit a brand channel.

More is better

Giphy required minimum 5–10 gifs to be uploaded on your channel. But, more gifs you upload will be better. Make sure all of them are different & unique.

Link to your artist page

If you already have artist website it will be better. But if you don’t have a website, your Instagram is also okay. I also linked it to my instagram account.

First, the profie picture that you use for my giphy account and instagram should be same. Second, better linked it to account that you use for uploading illustration instead of your personal.

Upload, Submit & Wait

Upload your gifs, make sure to input the source link & tags. Submit your application. Then check your email.

You will get an email that inform you that the application has been submited. After that, just wait for the email that inform you weather their team accept your application or not.

Fail? Just try again!

If your application is rejected by Giphy team, just try make it again. Delete your account & make a new one with the same username. (If the application already rejected you can’t submit in same account twice).
After that, make more gifs. make sure not uploading the similar picture. More variation will be better.

Yay!

Congratulation! your official channel as an artist has been approved. Now your gif can be appear on IG story. If you want to add more just wait for several hours after uploading on giphy so it will be appear On IG story.
